Commander’s Palace Jazz Brunch: A True New Orleans Send Off
Our dear friends are moving to Washington, DC. To send them off, we gathered for a special Jazz Brunch at Commander’s Palace restaurant, a New Orleans staple. It was the perfect way to celebrate our friends in true New Orleans fashion.
THE BUILDING: On the corner of Washington and Coliseum in New Orleans’ Garden District (and a stone’s throw from actor Jon Goodman’s house and actress Sandra Bullock’s house too) sits Commanders Palace, a New Orleans landmark since 1893. Not only is this the home to a delicious restaurant featuring award-winning food and a charming New Orleans atmosphere, this brightly colored building even has a special paint color named after it called, Commander’s Blue, of course.
THE MENU: The winner of six James Beard Foundation Awards, Commander’s Palace has evolved into a culinary legend. Our brunch menu was absolutely delicious and featured three courses of dishes bursting with flavor.
THE FRIENDS: What is typically an hour long meal for most around the world, in New Orleans, brunch is an all-day affair. It’s an experience best spent with friends. Even being a week away from my due date, and drinking water instead of wine and champagne, I still had a wonderful time full of laughs, conversations and of course, delicious food!
