Banksy is an anonymous street artist whose works have been featured on buildings, bridges, and landmarks throughout the world…including in my home town of New Orleans. The England-based artist recently made headlines after destroying one of his paintings by shredding it right after it sold for 1.4 million at auction. The story inspired me to find Banksy’s original paintings that are scattered throughout New Orleans. While most of his New Orleans work has been defaced, painted over, or torn down over the years (so sad!), there are a few pieces that remain. Here’s a look at where you can find original Banksy artwork in New Orleans.
