Inside Kennedy’s Closet: Smocked Dresses

Smocking is an embroidery technique used to gather fabric so that it can stretch.  And it’s a staple in any Southern baby’s wardrobe. When I found out I was having a girl, I went through my baby clothes my mother and aunt saved and found some adorable smocked dresses. It will be so special to see my daughter wearing the same baby outfits I wore 36 years ago.
